Trombonist, accordionist and composer Alois Eberl was born in 1986 in Kitzbühel, where he grew up surrounded by folk and classical music. At the age of 14, he continued his classical training in trombone and accordion at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck, where he also discovered his passion for jazz and popular music. At the age of 19, he went to Linz to study jazz trombone at the Anton Bruckner Private University. This was followed by a master's degree in classical trombone at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

Together with the cellist, pianist and composer Anna Lang, he founded the the duo Sinfonia de Carnaval. Inspired by the expressive sound discourses of jazz and using various elements of classical music, rock and funk, the duo creates a sound universe from the entire sound spectrum of their instruments to create a sound universe that is sometimes mixed with electronic sounds.

In 2021, he founded the quartet “Alpha Trianguli” together with Florian Klinger, Jakob Kammerer and Philipp Kienberger, with which he can musically process his inspirations from the cosmos and the starry sky. Inspired by the beauty and vastness of the universe, the Alpha Trianguli quartet embarks on a journey into the infinity of sound worlds. The four musicians move between earthy, edgy tones around energetic, swirling grooves and floating, calm sound paintings that are inspired by the view of the universe.

Alois has also worked musically with Ray Anderson, James Morrison, Bob Mintzer, Michel Camilo, Wycliffe Gordon, Chuck Findley, Jure Pukl, Mark Turner, Omar Hakim, Dave Taylor, Gary Smulyan, Dave Liebman, Thomas Gansch, Manu Delago and Martin Grubinger, just to name a few.

Alois is also a member of Echoboomer, OrJazztra Vienna (Christian Muthspiel), Kammerer OrKöster, Thomas Gansch Blasmusik Supergroup, Manu Delago Ensemble, Pannonica, Purple Muscle Car, Synesthetic Octet, Aufmessers Schneide.

He has performed on international stages such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Konzerthaus Vienna, Porgy&Bess Vienna, B-Flat Berlin, ÖKF Tehran, ACF London, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Jazzfestival Burghausen, Thailand International Jazz Conference, Jazzcafé London, Cathedral Reims, Jazzit Salzburg, Treibhaus Innsbruck, Philharmonie Berlin, Philharmonie Munich.

Alois was awarded the Jazz Prize of the City of Innsbruck in 2022. In 2024 he was nominated for the Austrian Jazz Award in the category “Best Newcomer” and received the Austrian Jazz Award in the category “Album of the year” with the band Echoboomer.

Der Posaunist, Akkordeonist und Komponist Alois Eberl wurde 1986 in Kitzbühel geboren und wuchs dort umgeben von Volksmusik und Klassischer Musik auf. Mit 14 Jahren setzte er seine bisherige Klassische Ausbildung in den Fächern Posaune und Akkordeon am Tiroler Landeskonservatorium in Innsbruck fort, wo er auch seine Leidenschaft für Jazz und Popularmusik entdeckte. Im Alter von 19 Jahren ging er nach Linz, um dort Jazzposaune an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität zu studieren. Des Weiteren folgte ein Masterabschluss im Konzertfach Posaune an der Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Zusammen mit der Cellistin, Pianistin und Komponistin Anna Lang gründete er das Duo Sinfonia de Carnaval. Inspiriert von den ausdrucksstarken Klangdiskursen des Jazz und unter Verwendung verschiedener Elemente der Klassischen Musik, Rock und Funk, erschafft das Duo aus dem gesamten Klangspektrum seiner Instrumente ein Klanguniversum, das manchmal auch mit elektronischen Klängen gemischt wird.
