Rath Trombones has welcomed Brazilian performer Thomas Barros to its flourishing roster of Artists.
Born in Recife, Pernambuco, Thomas began his musical studies in 2003 with the Banda Musical Professor Cândido Duarte, under the guidance of professors Isaac Leandro and Rinaldo Teodoro.
In 2007, he continued his education at the Escola Técnica Estadual de Criatividade Musical do Recife, studying with professors João Evangelista and Jorge Gonçalves Guerra.
He enjoys a busy career as a performer and educator, and has recorded in the studio for a host of international artists.
Commenting on his new role as a Rath Artist, Thomas said: “It is a great honour and pleasure to become a Michael Rath Artist, performing on this well-established brand of indescribable quality.
“I have no words to describe how happy I am to become an Artist and I hope to contribute to the continued growth of the brand.”
Thomas continued: “What impresses me about my Rath R9 Custom trombone is the immense versatility I found in it. I play everything from Beethoven to jazz, and it responds very well in all areas. I’m adding a Rath R4 to my instrument range, as I’ve been so impressed with it too.”
Thomas Barros plays a Rath Custom R9 bass trombone with a gold bell, standard slide and Rotax valves, and a yellow brass tuning slide.
