Rath Trombones has welcomed the addition of Stalin Rivadeneyra to its roster of Artists.
Stalin, who lives in New Jersey, USA, enjoys an illustrious career which has taken him all over the world, including Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Germany and Italy.
Commenting on his appointment as a Rath Artist, Stalin Rivadeneyra said: “I am very happy to be part of the Rath family after more than a decade playing one of their trombones in the Latin American market in the salsa genre around the world. For me, it is an honour to continue being an ambassador of the company – now as an Artist.
“The sound and projection are simply incredible. Since I first tried a Rath trombone, I didn’t have to look any further. The craftsmanship that goes into the building of every Rath trombone is out of this world. Now I have better resistance and projection, allowing me to be efficient when I am playing trombone leader in the different salsa bands in New York.”
Stalin has had a long musical career that began in 1985 playing the trombone in Middle School in Peru. After graduating from high school, Stalin began his musical career at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima-Peru (1991) playing in the Symphonic Band and the Big Band of Miraflores.
During the 1990s, Stalin performed with famous salsa artists in Peru such as Antonio Cartagena, Willy Rivera, Perú Salsa All Stars and Orquesta Camagüey.
In 1999 he moved to New York and took trombone lessons with Juan Pablo Torres, Bob Ferrel and attended seminars with Joseph Alessi, Slide Hampton and Dave Taylor. Stalin began freelancing professionally in the salsa and latin music genre after studying, performing and being mentored by Pablo Santaella.
In January 2001, he met Isidro Infante, producer, arranger, pianist and musical director of Ritmo Mundo Musical (RMM), one of the most important record labels in the Latin industry during the late 1980s and throughout the ‘90s, as well as a film company, nightclubs and restaurants and joined the orchestra.
Now he is also focused on his own project called Varanda Orquesta and his first musical production that is now available on all digital platforms.
