Corpus Quartet albums now available across platforms

Great news for Rath Artists, the Corpus Trombone Quartet, as their new albums are now available across a wide range of platforms.

The releases are Dudaszó, Harsonaszó (Sound of Bagpipe, Sound of Trombone) and Régi magyar dallamok harsonákra és pásztorfurulyára (Old Hungarian Melodies for Trombones and Shepherd's Flute).

Both albums were recorded in November 2025, and follow previous releases Madárka (2019) and Magyar Mozaik (2021).

The albums came as a result of the ensemble's friendship and ongoing collaboration with Balázs Szokolay Dongó, who commented: "Arrangements of Hungarian folk music for brass instruments are rarely heard in this form — it is a unique sound.

"Today, when authentic folk music performance has been explored in great detail, arranging folk music and placing it in a classical setting has become a different kind of task. Kodály and his contemporaries couldn't yet dream of arranging with folk instruments.

"But I believe we are following in their footsteps when we, as folk musicians, venture into a symphonic orchestra or among trombones.

"Four trombones naturally evoke a rustic medieval sound, which pairs brilliantly with the exotic character of the bagpipe, flute, and tárogató."
