Brett Baker set for the USA

Brett Baker set for the USA

A busy spell continues for Rath Artist and Cory Band principal trombonist, Brett Baker, as he enjoys his latest solo trip to the USA.

Fresh from a victory with Cory at the recent Welsh Regionals - where he was crowned best instrumentalist - Brett flew to visit his longtime friend, Keith Wilkinson, who has arranged many solos for Brett down the years.

Brett will also visit Dublin City near Columbus to work with its conductor, Tim Jameson.

He then travels to Chicago to work on a recording project with Brett Tolcher and the Chicago Staff Band of the Salvation Army.

The project includes pieces written for Brett over the past decade by Paul Sharman and Barrie Gott, with arrangements by Rob Wiffin, Keith Wilkinson and Ian Jones.

Once complete, Brett will visit Five Lakes and the Motor City Youth and Senior Bands in Detroit before then flying to Newark, New Jersey to present a workshop, recital and concert with Imperial Brass Band and its conductor Ron Waiksnoris.
