Elgar and Holst's trombones resurrected
It's not very often that you see a genuine piece of trombone history, let alone play one. To get two at the same time...
Sue Addison asked us to take a look at two trombones that had been tucked away in a cupboard in the Royal College of Music museum,to see if they could be put into working order for a CD that she's recording later this year. Then she mentioned that they just happened to belong to Edward Elgar and Gustav Holst!
