American Rath

Michael Rath artists David Gibson, James Burton and Michael Dease are three of New York's leading jazz musicians. When they contacted our friend Steve Dillon at Dillon Music Inc., and spoke to him about making an album together, everyone was extremely excited by the prospect.

With collective performing experience that spans names like Slide Hampton, Herbie Hancock, Jon Faddis, Eric Alexander, the Ray Charles Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Count Basie Orchestra, the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band, all three are equally highly regarded as composers and arrangers.

The American Rath album had been in the making for some months before the recording sessions, which took place last December. It features a mixture of original compositions and new arrangements including standards such as "“Cherokee” and “I’m Gettin’ Sentimental Over You”, all made specifically for the recording.

The "American Rath" CD is due to be released very soon and will be available exclusively from us and Dillon Music Inc. in the US. It's really going to be a "must-have" for your collection.
