Visiting Rath
We want to make sure that your Rath trombone is the best instrument that we can possibly give you. Visiting us is by far the best way to make sure that you get the right specification.
To begin with, please start by contacting us to discuss what you're looking for. Whether it's a replacement for your existing trombone, or simply a new instrument it helps to talk through what you're looking for first.
The next step is to arrange an appointment for a testing session to try out the models and options that are appropriate for what you're looking for. Please make your appointment by contacting Chris at least 2 weeks prior to your visit.
Pre-booking allows us to make sure that we have all the instruments and parts that you might need available for you, as well as any special items that might be suitable. It also means that we can make sure that two players aren't trying to try the same instrument at the same time!
If you're coming from outside the UK, or if you're planning a visit during the school holiday please let us know as soon as you can, as this is our busiest time.
A testing session can last anywhere from one to three hours (or longer if you're looking for more than one trombone). Please bring your current instrument and mouthpiece(s) with you.
Many players find it very useful to have at least one piece or excerpt that they know really well. This gives you a very direct comparision that can quickly show you where the differences are between setups.
